Grain Update: Canola Development Underway Alongside CWRS and CWAD Progress

Our grain development work continues to move forward as we expand datasets, test across varying conditions, and refine performance against real world samples.

Here is a look at what we have been working on.

Canola

Our team is excited to have started development work on canola.

The initial focus is on for conspicuous admixture, moisture, and oil content, all key factors that play an important role in how canola is assessed and valued. As we begin building out this dataset, the goal is to capture and measure these factors consistently and translate them into practical insights.

This marks an important step as we continue expanding into additional crops.

CWRS and CWAD

Development for CWRS and CWAD continues to progress, with further advancement across key grading factors.

We have received a range of samples from last year’s harvest, bringing in strong variability across quality and conditions. These samples are helping us build greater variety into the dataset, which is important for strengthening performance and improving how the system handles real world grading scenarios.

As our factors continue to develop, each new dataset helps refine consistency and reliability across both crops.

Why This Matters

Grain grading is shaped by variability, and building systems that reflect that reality takes time and strong datasets.

By continuing to develop across crops and factors, we are working toward tools that support consistent, reliable insights and make day to day grain decisions easier.
