Meet the Team: Himani Patel

One of the most exciting things about building Ground Truth Ag is seeing how diverse skill sets and backgrounds come together around a shared mission. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Himani Patel, our Cloud Ecosystem Architect, someone who’s helping us scale our systems while scaling her own learning and growth in the process.

A Role Built on Growth

Himani’s path to Ground Truth Ag started with curiosity and a desire to stretch her skills. After not feeling challenged, she was actively looking for an opportunity that would allow her to both contribute and grow.

“When I came across the role, I didn’t even think I’d get the job,” she admits. “But I got lucky. This is a space where I’m trusted to learn and grow into the role, not just execute it.”

As Cloud Ecosystem Architect, Himani plays a crucial role in designing and maintaining the systems that power Ground Truth Ag’s data infrastructure. That means helping ensure our cloud architecture is not only secure and scalable but also designed to support the demands of a fast-growing, multi-disciplinary team.

With data flowing in from software, machine learning, and chemistry teams, integration is key. Himani’s job is to keep those systems talking to each other while anticipating what’s needed next. “Nothing reaches the cloud by accident,” she says with a laugh. “If it doesn’t get there, it’s a problem.”

Why Ground Truth Ag?

What drew Himani to Ground Truth wasn’t just the technology; it was the opportunity to build something meaningful.

“Everyone here is so supportive and patient,” she says. “They trust me to figure things out. It makes me want to do more and push myself more.”

That kind of support has helped her dive into everything from system architecture to security protocols and always with the freedom to explore, experiment, and ask questions.

What She Loves Most

“No single day is the same,” Himani says. “And that’s what I love. I get to collaborate with different teams, learn about what they’re building, and understand how it all connects.”

Beyond the technical challenges, it’s the people that make a difference. “Everyone is pushing themselves, and that energy is contagious. You feel like you’re part of something big, even if your part feels small in the moment.”

Big Goals Ahead

For Ground Truth Ag, Himani wants to see more benchtops in more hands. “I’d love to see the company become a household name in agtech,” she says.

And for herself? “I want to take everything I’m learning and put it into action. To really contribute to the bigger picture and become someone others can rely on. Not just doing tasks but shaping systems.”

Outside the Office

In her spare time, Himani leans into creativity and calm. She’s an avid painter and loves experimenting with different styles. Whether it’s oil, watercolor, or just a quick sketch from Pinterest. “Painting helps me feel in control when everything else feels busy,” she says.

Beyond art, Himani also co-owns a fast-food restaurant with her partner and has watched it grow from the ground up. Running the business has taught her resilience, compassion, and the courage it takes to keep something thriving through long days and late nights.

Her passions stretch from painting to the creativity she brings into the kitchen and the comfort of wandering into cafés for a perfect cup of coffee.

One Thing You Might Not Know

Though she may seem shy at first, Himani is a thoughtful listener who takes time to open up. Once she does, her warmth and humour shine through, often surprising people with how easily she brings ease and laughter into a room.

We’re lucky to have Himani shaping the systems and spirit of Ground Truth Ag.
