Harvest 2025: Real-Time Insights in Action

Harvest is here once again, and across the Prairies it’s the busiest time of the year. Combines are rolling, bins are filling, and decisions are being made in the field that shape the rest of the year. For our team at Ground Truth Ag, this season is also a chance to be right there alongside farmers, learning, testing, and building on everything we’ve accomplished so far.

Growth from Last Year

Last year, our focus was on proving the potential of real-time grading directly on the combine. This year, we’ve taken those lessons forward with refining hardware placement, improving the flow of data to the app, and making results more intuitive and easier to act on. Each step reflects our goal to make automated grain grading seamless for farmers during the most important time of year.

What Farmers Are Seeing in the Field

One farmer who used the on-combine unit this harvest told us that the biggest value came from the instant feedback. Being able to see grade and protein in real time as they moved from field to field gave them the confidence to sell more grain right off the combine, knowing their quality was consistent.

They also highlighted the agronomic value of real-time protein data. Watching protein trends shift in high-yielding areas offered immediate insight, helping them understand how yield and protein balanced across their fields.

Ease of use mattered too. The farmer shared that they kept the system on the dashboard page for most of the run time because it had all the information they needed at a glance. And when they wanted more detail, the ability to select a grading factor and see not just what it meant but also the allowable levels gave them valuable context in the moment.

As they put it, “It’s nice to be on the combine in the field and get instant information so I know what I may have to analyze later or what fields I don’t need to worry about.”

A Shared Excitement

Harvest is demanding, but it’s also when the benefits of technology come into sharpest focus. Our team has been in the field throughout this season, watching the units run and hearing how real-time grading is giving farmers more confidence in their crop. It’s exciting to see the technology not just tested but truly used in the conditions that matter most.

Looking Ahead

Harvest 2025 shows us what’s possible when instant quality data is right there in the cab. The progress since last year has been significant, and the feedback from this harvest will shape the next stage of development.

As the season wraps up, we’re grateful to farmers for opening their cabs and bins to us, and for sharing their experiences. Together, we’re building tools that make grain grading faster, more consistent, and helping turn busy harvest days into confident, informed decisions.
