Meet Dione Koropatnicki

One of the most exciting things about being a start-up is building our team, bringing together talented individuals who help us shape our vision and culture. Over the next while, we’ll be introducing more of our team at Ground Truth Ag, continuing with Dione Koropatnicki, Technical Account Manager.

Meet Dione

Before officially joining the Ground Truth Ag team, Dione had already been following the technology.

“Having worked in the grain industry for a long time, I knew the need for this kind of solution,” she shares. “When I first heard about what Ground Truth Ag was doing, I was really excited. I wanted to be involved in any way I could.”

That moment of alignment between her firsthand industry experience and our mission to automate and improve grain grading made joining the team a natural next step. When the opportunity opened up, she was ready.

Bringing Grain Grading Innovation to the Field

At Ground Truth Ag, Dione works directly with customers across the industry, helping them understand and adopt the technology we’ve developed and showing them what’s now possible in grain grading.

“There are still a lot of people in the industry who don’t realize how far this technology has come,” she says. “Being the one to say, ‘Here it is. It’s real, it works, and it’s long overdue’ is incredibly exciting.”

For Dione, it’s about more than just showcasing features. It’s about solving real problems that she knows firsthand.

“There are huge challenges when it comes to grain grading. Retaining people with the right expertise, managing subjectivity, and dealing with how time-consuming the process is. What we’re offering here is a solution that simplifies the process, reduces the grey areas, and brings consistency and efficiency. That’s why people are interested. That’s why I’m excited to share it.”

What She Loves About Her Work

For Dione, the best part of working at Ground Truth Ag is the people, both inside and outside the company.

“What’s really encouraging is that our partners outside of Ground Truth also share our values. Everyone’s aligned. That makes every conversation, every meeting, every challenge more enjoyable,” she says. “And internally, we all care about doing things right. We’re working together toward something exciting, with integrity at the core.”

What she enjoys most about her role is helping others in the industry discover how this technology can transform their day-to-day operations.

Looking Ahead

Dione’s long-term vision is ambitious but grounded in the momentum she’s seeing in the field.

“I’d love to be here all the way through to when our grading system is in confident commercial use throughout North America,” she says. “Across multiple commodities, grading with 95 to 100 percent accuracy. I don’t think there will ever be a ‘done,’ because we’ll always keep improving. But reaching that level of impact, that’s the goal.”

Outside of Work

When she’s not working with customers or demonstrating the capabilities of Ground Truth Ag’s grading system, Dione is focused on family life and enjoying the outdoors.

She spends most of her time with her four-year-old daughter. “She definitely sets the pace,” Dione laughs. She also enjoys going on family walks, reading, and reconnecting with nature whenever possible.

Fishing has been a big part of her life as well. “Before our daughter came along, my husband and I did a lot of fishing. We’ve gone all over—Saskatchewan lakes, the Sask River, even up in northwestern Ontario. Whenever we got the chance, we’d go.”

And one surprising fun fact? “I’ve never had a fast food hamburger,” she says. “I’ve had chicken nuggets and chicken burgers, but never a beef hamburger from McDonald’s or anywhere. I was a picky kid, and honestly, at this point, I’m kind of proud of the streak.”

Dione brings a unique combination of practical experience, thoughtful communication, and genuine care to every part of her work. She is helping to make grain grading smarter, simpler, and more accessible for everyone in the industry.

We’re proud to have her on the team. Stay tuned for more Meet the Team stories as we introduce the people behind Ground Truth Ag.
